Shelley Dales (DVATI, MC:AT)
Project Advisor / Instructor

Shelley Dales’ professional experiences are varied and include working with public agencies and medium size companies as well as co-owning and running her own business. The essential thread that has run through these endeavours is a love for integrative, holistic and creative ways of living. Shelley received her B.A. (psychology) from UBC in 1988. Subsequent training has included Conflict Resolution, JIBC; Fine Arts, Emily Carr; Troubled and Troubling Adolescents, JIBC. Since 1991 Shelley has facilitated groups in mediums such as conflict resolution, psychoeducation, art therapy and meditation. She has been a meditation practitioner since 1982 and has been a co-facilitator of group meditation trainings since 1997. Since graduating from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute in 2001, Shelley has worked as an art therapist in private practice as well as through contract and agency group work.

Shelley received her Masters in Counselling: Art Therapy Specialization through the Campus Alberta Applied Psychology program, a collaborative initiative offered through the Universities of Calgary, Athabasca, and Lethbridge. Shelly's final project is titled: Changes in Adult Attachment Status and Affect Regulation through Mutual Synchrony. For the last several years, Shelley has balanced her academic work with the experiential, body-oriented training of the Hakomi method of assisted self-study.
