Fulltime Diploma Graduate
1998 – Kelowna, BC
I am delighted to be able to connect with you through our valuable Alma Mater, VATI. This is a wonderful profession that we have chosen. Since graduating my life and practice as an Art Therapist has definitely been about embodying change, personal and professional evolution, and the spirit of adventure. 2 ½ years ago, I moved to a tiny community in Central-Northern BC. I was invited to design and implement an Art Therapy workshop for a project called “Community Heart,” which focused on utilizing the arts to raise community awareness about the impact of violence against women and children where we utilized small scale multi-media installation art.
After that I journeyed to the High Arctic into the “land of the Midnight Sun,” where I was the Mental Health and Addictions Counsellor for an Inuit Community of 450 people. I descended from the Tundra last summer and promptly ascended to the Swiss Alps! There I attended my first summer at the European Graduate School intensive MA program in Expressive Arts Therapies. For the last year I have been working as the Child and Youth Sexual Abuse Counsellor/Program Coordinator at the Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society in Kelowna, BC, along with a dynamic team of individuals.
