Program Calendar
The fifteen month Advanced Diploma program consists of four parts:
- a 3 week residency in Vancouver
- followed by an 12 month distance learning component
- a second two week residency in Vancouver
- and concludes with a Final Project.
PART I: Three Week Summer Residency in Vancouver
| Summer Intensive: |
Learning includes direct art therapy experiential learning, labs and course work. For some classes, preparation reading will be required in advance. Assignments will be submitted according to instructors’ requirements. |

PART II: 12 month Distance Learning
| Online Courses include: |

- Art Therapy History and Theory |

| Practicum requirements: |
700 hours of art therapy practical experience arranged in a local school, agency, hospital or community setting in the students’ home town. (350 hours direct client contact, the balance are work related activities). The practicum site must be approved by Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. Students are covered by liability insurance. |

| Supervision requirements: |
25 hours of individual Supervision via internet and teleconferencing |

PART III: 2 Week Second Summer Residency in Vancouver
Second summer intensive conducted in a similar manner as the first.
