Application Process
Applications for both Art Therapy streams are due in the Spring, on March 30th every year.
We encourage applicants to apply before March 30th as both of or program streams have limited enrollment. Late application submissions will be considered based on availability of space. For further information please contact: Laura Worrall laura@vati.bc.ca.

Application Requirements
- Complete Application Form. Click here for form.
- $75 Application Fee (non-refundable): E-transfer payments can be sent to: vatipayment@vati.bc.ca; please send password used to the same email.
- Master’s Degree (or a Bachelor’s degree + 8-10 years of experience, admitted on a case-by-case basis). Official transcripts of degrees will be required as per application form.
- Please submit the following:
- A brief autobiography describing your background, interests and events which have shaped your life and brought you to apply to art therapy training.
- Describe your current personal/professional goals and how you would like to apply the training.
- Current Resume/CV.
- Three Letters of Reference (academic or professional) sent directly to VATI. Click here for more detailed information.

- International Degree Evaluation for international degrees. Click here for more information.
Admission Procedures
When complete application materials have been received and reviewed an in-person, phone, or video interview will be arranged. Candidates who have completed the application and interview process will be notified by email in April.
Upon successful application, a letter of acceptance with program details including start date will be sent to the applicant.
To reserve a space in the cohort, a onetime $175 Registration Fee (non-refundable) is required.
International Students
The AD program is available to international students who will be visiting for the two summer residencies, and returning home to complete placement hours and online courses in between the summer visits. Given that the residencies are so short, there is no need for an international study permit.
