Gretchen Ladd, M.Ed
Instructor
Gretchen is a visual artist, gardener, therapist and curious soul. She came to art therapy to dive deeper into the arts and weave together her love of community, hand work and evoking the creative intelligence that supports healing and well-being.

She runs a private practice and creative arts groups for professionals and folx who want to explore their inner world and relational life through embodied art making. Her current practice is rooted in working with plants and materials from her backyard and neighbourhood boulevards. She has a love of drawing, painting, collaging, textiles and creating woven sculptures. The practice of engaging wonder, curiosity, and the sensing body energizes her work, teaching and ongoing inquiry into nature of being.
Gretchen has been an art therapy educator at VATI and various schools and programs in Canada and abroad since 2007. She is a VATI graduate and has an M.Ed from Simon Fraser University in Clinical Counselling, as well as BA from Emily Carr University in visual art and sculpture. She completed her training in Somatic Experiencing in 2017.
