Expressive Arts Therapy
Application Process
Applications are accepted for the Expressive Arts Therapy program throughout the year. The deadline for early admissions applications is at the end of January each year.
We encourage applicants to apply before January 31st as our program has limited enrollment. Application submissions post-deadline will be considered for acceptance based on availability of space.
Applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and candidates who have completed the application process will be notified and interviewed in February.

How to Apply
Application Requirements
- Completion of the Application Form
- $100 Application Fee (non-refundable): E-transfer payments can be sent to: vatipayment@vati.bc.ca; please send the password you use to the same email.
- Bachelor’s Degree – unofficial proof of bachelor’s degree. Official transcripts of bachelor’s degree will be required upon acceptance into the program. **Bachelor equivalency is a separate process that must be completed before applying to our program – please contact us for more information.
- Please submit the following (3 pages/double spaced total):
- A brief autobiography describing your background, interests and events which have shaped your life and brought you to apply to expressive arts therapy training.
- Describe your current personal/professional goals and how you would like to apply the training.
- Current resume submitted
- One written reference (academic, professional or long-term personal reference)
- English Proficiency – Language Proficiency Assessment as required
Admission Procedures
Upon successful acceptance of your application for admission, you will be required to provide the following:
- $150 deposit on tuition and other costs (non-refundable)
- Proof of identity (a photocopy of either your driver’s license, passport, or other photo ID)
- Proof of bachelor’s degree – official transcripts must be sent directly to the institute.
- A signed copy of the Student Enrolment Contract (which will be completed at the beginning of the program).
- A Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable clients (which will be completed at the beginning of the program).
International Students
