VATI | Art Therapy Program Faculty | Peggy Clarkson, MA

Greta’s educational studies include the visual arts, costume design, textiles and somatic therapy. Greta’s work in costume design and film has informed the ways that she integrates fabric into her work as an Expressive Arts Therapist. Her master’s degree thesis work explored the use of fabric as an arts-based modality.

Over the last 10 years Greta has worked with refugee students in schools. She also facilitates workshops for front line workers and parents /carers of dependents with developmental disabilities. By creating a safe and supportive environment, participants can share, explore and process their experiences through the arts.

Greta has a private practice at East Vancouver Counselling on Commercial Drive where she works with children, youth and adults. Greta focuses on a client-centered approach that supports healing and growth. She is also a mum to two adult sons, Jak and Elliott. Her youngest, Elliott, has cerebral palsy and has benefited greatly from the use of expressive arts to work through feelings that he is unable to vocalize.
