MA, RCC-ACS
Lucia de Urioste Bejarano (she/her) is a poet and artist believer at heart. She was born in La Paz, Bolivia, immigrating to Vancouver, Canada, being gratefully able to create a second home on the traditional, unceded, homelands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

She has been working with children, youth, women and families in community based agencies since 2008 and private practice since 2014. Her work is guided by our innate ability to heal, the strength of community that comes from reciprocity, our identity, culture and heritage; and the healing guidance of the arts as a collaborative practice to process, learn, deconstruct and integrate.
She has firsthand experience in the challenges and the resources for practitioners working on the front line with populations who have experienced violence, complex and intergenerational trauma and high-risk situations. This experience has led her curiosity to arts based/aesthetic approaches to nourishment, sustainability and supervision in community based and clinical practices.
She has a Masters of Arts in Expressive Arts Therapy with a Minor in Psychology from the European Graduate School and is currently participating in the Doctoral program. As well, she holds education in creative writing, systemic therapy and various trainings in trauma informed body/somatic centered approaches.
